My mackerel painting workshop is a great way to develop your painting, with step by step instruction. My three hour workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced artists. All takes place here in our fantastic beach garden workshop with plenty of tea, coffee and cake to keep the creative juices flowing!
What a great morning spent with some of my workshopees who learnt all about the versatility of acrylics painting these fantastic mackerel. Use acrylic paints straight out of the tube; their lovely buttery consistency is similar to oil paint but without the long drying time or mix the colours with water for transparent watercolour effects. I like to combine the two techniques as well as experimenting with spraying, sponging and layering colour to create rich depth and texture.
